The cold winter air can dry up all the moisture from your hair and have them looking all dull and limp. Here are some must-do’s and definitely –not’s for your hair this winter:

  • Try and wear a scarf or a cap as much as possible when out to limit the damage of cold winter air to your hair.
  • Avoid chemical treatments like colouring, streaking or curling during this time, as hair is more susceptible this time of the year.
  • Try and restrict the use of shampoos in winter as they can cleanse out the oils from your scalp. Don’t forget to use a conditioner every time after you shampoo.
  • Try and use lukewarm water while shampooing, hot water can further dry out your hair.
  • Use moisture rich oils and gently massage into hair, ideally after warming up the oil. Ideal time to oil your hair and step out, as you will be wearing a scarf or a cap!
  • Restrict the use of blow dryers, they will further dry out your hair and make them brittle.
